Allah-u-Abha!

Dear friends,

I am doing a research project on Obligatory Prayer in the Faith, but I would like to mention anything that ressembles obligatory prayer in other religions besides Baha'i, Babi, and Islamic traditions.

For instance, the story in the Iqan of Prophet Mohammed suddenly turning in the middle of prayer from Jerusalem to the Ka'aba in Mecca, and this causing many to lose faith, seems to hint at a tradition of facing Jerusalem in other traditions perhaps.

I am interested in anything that ressembles at least one (or more) of the aspects of obligatory prayer in the Baha'i/Islamic sense of it i.g. required direction, required daily verses, ablutions, prostrating and genuflecting, and time requirements.

I will need references to sources as well.

Thanks in advance!

Loren Henson
