The NSA of Chile will make the decision regarding the design I understand from plans submitted by any architect who wishes to enter a design. The temple will be built on a 41 acre site near the edge of Santiago, Chile. No other buildings are called for in addition to the Temple at this time. The recently issued letter calling for architects to present designs indicates that this is an earthquake prone area, so the designers and engineers must consider that in terms of design. It must be about 120 feet tall according to the letter which may limited some designs. Also, this Temple is for all of South America, so it may be that a blending of indigineous styles may be acceptable. I would guess that this could even include Spanish/Portuguese influences to some extent, though perhaps in a supportive and subordinate role, such as tiles and steps.
