Thank you Jonah! By "symbolism" I especially mean pictures and writing on the flag itself, not so much what the flag meant (though this is obviously more important theologically).

I gather that there wasn't a standard Standard...? And that we don't really know what exactly the Babis were waving...? Unless somebody's still got one of their flags, or the specs for them are in one of these Arabic/Persian sources footnoted by Dr. Easterman's footnotes...?

(Hopefully in heraldic notation! "On a field ebon, a mullet, verde...")
