Thanks for bringing this up. It's a great question, I'd never thought of it before. I've never heard an answer to it, either. There's no mention of it in the compilation on death and burial. Perhaps someone would like to write to the House to ask about this...

Also, I recall seeing a descriptive history of the remains of the Bab, covering in fair detail His original death, the transfer of the remains to various hiding places, and final their transfer to the Holy Land. But now I can't recall where I saw it. Does anyone know of this? I thought it was an appendix to Browne's _Traveller's Narrative_, but I couldn't find it there. There is one article by Ahang Rabbani online at www.bahai-library.com/histories/remains.bab.html, but this isn't the one I'm thinking of...
