The centrepiece of His proclamatory works, originally written in Edirne and recast in ‘Akká, in which Bahá’u’lláh as the embodiment of the promised new Temple is called forth by the Holy Spirit and symbolically raised up limb by limb, with the mission of each part being assigned and sent forth into the world in fulfilment of the prophecy of the Old Testament (Zechariah 6:12). In its final form, it includes His epistles to Pope Pius IX, Emperor Napoleon III, Czar Alexander II, Queen Victoria, and Náṣiru’d-Dín Sháh.
