Teaching English to Persians

In my community I have the task of teaching English to Persian speaking Baha'is, we're just starting a class.
The goal is to reduce the language barrier and have more unity in the feasts and events.

Currently we are required to hold our feasts in English (in BC, Canada) but a number of Persian friends cannot understand.
We have tried alternating English & Farsi, or translating the program in our newsletter etc.
For consultation we always split into 2 groups. Not so helpful...

I am trying to put together a program that focuses on the English required to make it through a feast in English.

Is there anyone in your area doing something similar? I'd love to compare notes. If you have developed any materials
I would be keen to see those too.

Thank you!

Update, I am working on a list of common words used in feasts. This is to give to some Persian friends in our community to help them understand what is being said (in English) in the feasts.

Is there someone who can translate the vocabulary to Farsi for me?
If you have MS word and Farsi fonts on your computer, I can share what I have so far.

Thanks in advance.

Great initiative... well done!

I dont know if you will find this input useful, but I have actually seen a "Bahai" dictionary (i.e. it specifically lists words and even phrases, I think). And the dictionary translates words between English and Persian.

The only place I've ever seen this dictionary being sold is at the National Bahai centre in London. I can try and find out the name of the book for you, if you want. Would you like me to do that for you?

Sure, I'll help with the vocabulary if you still need it.

It's on sale at Amazon for only a few dollars.

BahaIQ has a glossary complete with Persian and Arabic as well as pronunciations. If you ever need the Arabic or Persian word then my little tip is to look it up on Wikipedia in English and then change the language to Farsi or Arabic.

This is much shorter than the "Basic Baha'i Dictionary," but it still has lots of entries. (Warning: it also has some scanning errors, like "Qbsim" for "Qásim".)
