The calculation of 1335 years

Postby HuangRan » Fri Apr 25, 2014 12:59 am

In Bahá’u’lláh and the New Era, the Master explain the meaning of 1335 years/days, mentioned by Daniel, in the passage below:

‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s Tablets make it clear that this prophecy refers to the one hundredth anniversary of the Declaration of Bahá’u’lláh in Baghdád, or the year 1963:—
Now concerning the verse in Daniel, the interpretation whereof thou didst ask, namely, “Blessed is he who cometh unto the thousand, three hundred and thirty-five days.” These days must be reckoned as solar and not lunar years. For according to this calculation a century will have elapsed from the dawn of the Sun of Truth, then will the teachings of God be firmly established upon the earth...

But how to understand the calculation of 1335?

Thanks.

Have you seen this letter? http://bahai-library.com/uhj_prophecy_daniel_esslemont

...which includes this quote:

The 1335 days referred to by Daniel will be fulfilled in 1963. The date of the Hijra is 622 A.D. The 1335 days is figured according to the solar calendar, but in adjusting the 1335 days, one must take into consideration the time at which the prophecies were given and change them into solar time, which would bring the date to 1963...

Thank you Brettz. That calculation is really complicated...
