AND THEY SAW CHRIST LIVING--Jesus' Resurrection

For those Baha'is who wish to teach Bible-believing Christians the Faith, I highly recommend you read the following article:
http://www.angelfire.com/mo/baha/christliving.html

The "Metaphor-Only" view of Jesus' resurrection not only contradicts the Gospels, but it will "go over" with Evangelicals and other Bible-believers like a Led Zeplin.

Being a Christian, I agree that this approach will work far better and sound persuasive to a broader range of Christians....but it's still not convincing to me. It comes across as verbal trickery almost. The resurrected Christ according to this theory basically has all the characteristics of a physically resurrected body, but isn't a physically resurrected body. The simpler and more believable reason for this would be that it was indeed a physical resurrection.

Certainlyl a glorified body is different from the bodies we have now....that's why the idea stated in the article may be attractive to some. But the main difference will still exist. Christians believe Jesus IS God. We believe that in Christ 'the fulness of deity dwells in bodily form.' We believe this concretely. And we believe this God-man resurrected in the flesh. And we believe all men will receive resurrected bodies. In fact, many Christians refuse to be cremated b/c of the powerful fact of their future resurrection.

Christianity does not consider matter evil. It heralds the body. God created a very good creation. Sin brought a curse. God will not wipe out matter. He redeemed it. Nature groans now b/c it is poisoned by sin, but in the future all things will be made new. The physical world will be restored in it's original very good state. The physical world. Not some spiritual existence. We believe Jesus will be our King and that He still has and always will have a physical body.

DARRICK: Then God has a body just like a man, as Mormons believe.
