Re: Fate

Hi Truth

Irrevocable - God could change the rotation of the earth but the harm would exceed any benefit.

Impending - a meteor is heading to Earth, through prayer to God the course of the meteor changes and disaster is averted.

A very good question.

What does this refer to?

I have a question that perhaps someone more erudite than I can answer. I am not sure which two great powers Baha'u'llah is referring to in the following line from the Lawh-i-Maqsud: Two great powers who regard themselves is the founders and leaders of civilization and the framers of constitutions ha...

Hello Donald, I had some free time this evening so I looked up several quotes for you. I won't type them out fully, but rather let you look them up and see if they are suitable for your purposes. They relate to world peace. First five paragraphs of the Suriy-i-Haykal, the Surih of the Temple, found ...

In the prayer for parents, what does this line mean?

Hi BB & Someone, Praying for one's parents is a spiritual practice that began, as far as I can tell, with the Bab. In the Persian Bayan, He revealed the following: It is seemly that the servant should, after each prayer, supplicate God to bestow mercy and forgiveness upon his parents. Thereupon ...

When bad things happen to good people.

The following prayer by the Bab is a profound meditation on why bad things happen to good people. At least I have observed so. Thou knowest full well, O my God, that tribulations have showered upon me from all directions and that no one can dispel or transmute them except Thee. I know of a certainty...

I don't have a clue what other Baha'is would say but this one would say Congratulations! Felicidades! And leave it at that. I once read an account of a near death experience in which the nder asked about homosexuals, sin and hell, etc... Interesting thread guys. A few thoughts... I have noticed over the past ten years or so that Baha'is often get hung up on the word infallible . It is as though in conversation one draws an invisible line to see who is on which side of the covenant. It saddens me to no end. I never use the word infal...

Hi Richard, I read your personal confession and thank you for it. I testify, at this moment, to my powerlessness and to Thy might, to my pove...

Hi Richard, 25+ years ago I told a friend about the Baha'i Faith.
