Allahu Abha!

:BNC: I assume these messages have been removed for some reason--but if so, why leave the dead links on the bulleting board page?

PK: I would leave the dead links on the main page so that readers can see the message was deleted. Consider what would happen if the owner removed lines from the main page when the corresponding message was deleted: Some might suspect that their message fell into the bit bucket, and resend it. By leaving the loose end, hopefully the authors of the dupicate, or off topic messages can see that their offering were specifically deleted and that they may desist in their efforts in that vein.

:BNC: It's really kind of annoying to keep clicking on things and get an error message over and over..

PK: Not nearly so annoying as replying to some nonsense message, only to realize that the thread had been safely dead for four days, and now, by replying to some nonsense message, one has awakened the dragon.

PK: It can save readers the effort of reading through some nonsense thread about nonsense.

PK: As you might imagine by now, I think Jonah is duing a superb job, particularly in light of what he has to work with.

Best wishes!
