One would not expect most people to have a good understanding of the system of registrars and registrars' Whois databases, but it's a good idea to know what you're talking about before making such claims. It is a minor coincidence that we both are listed with TuCows as registrar, but as you can see below we actually used different registrars, Juxta and Consumer.net. TuCows OpenSRS is a consortium of registrars (a domain "reseller") as well as a registrar itself, hence the line in my record "Discount consumer gateway to Tucows OpenSRS - Domain renewals." The information pertaining to my address, email, phone, and technical contact is all outdated. In general, you can put very little stock in Whois databases, they are full of incorrect and old information. All you can do is make sure you're using the most complete Whois database, which is usually betterwhois.com.
