Dear Stuart,

Normally I would not publish discussion about such a very private matter as someone's funeral and their relationship with the Baha'i Faith. I think this is a matter that is intensely personal and should not be the subject of public debate. However, it is clear that in this case it is an unavoidably public issue, whether or not it should be, and as such we do have to respond to it. I appreciate your sharing any information you have.

You described David Kelly's funeral, but did not give a source for your information. Would you mind posting or emailing me the link to the article where you read this, so that I can add the article for us all to read and respond to? What is your source for saying that his family rejected a Baha'i funeral? This is a strong statement which must be attributed if we are to leave it on the Bulletin Board.

For the record, the short essay Suicide and the Baha'i Faith, this was not written by me but was prepared by two British Baha'i physicians who requested anonymity.

Thank you, -Jonah
