The same arguments that Baha'u'llah was not a Manifestation of God have been applied to previous Manifestations of God. I suppose the Baha'is might say that it is the Manifestation of God Who, alone, determines Who is and Who is not a Manifestation of God, and it is He Who defines the definitions and not by any definitions other than this. So perhaps the question to be asking is: 'What does Baha'u'llah say is the definition of a Manifestation of God?'

Some Christians may argue that Baha'u'llah is not a Manifestation of God from their point of reference and interpretation of Biblical scripture. Were not the same rational arguments brought forth at the time of Christ to deny that He was the Christ? Where was His kingdom, his crown, his authority? Did He not change the laws of the Torah? How could such an usurper be of God, they argued.
