Buoyant copper prices that hit a new record of US$2.64/lb on the London Metal Exchange Friday (Apr 7) are providing a strong incentive for miners of the red metal to increase production.

But the difficulties facing companies that want to take advantage of high prices by increasing supply was a recurring theme at CRU's 5th World Copper Conference in Santiago, Chile, on April 5-6.

and on avg about 8 coppers per 50 cent roll is out there in current circ ...
